2009 Summer Law&CSI Attendee |
Hi! I copied this from the info booklet for scholars, hope it helps!
Attire The Forum on Law and CSI has enjoyed an excellent reputation in the Washington, D.C. community as a result of the high standard of professionalism our students exemplify. To ensure that this standard is maintained, all students are expected to exercise professional discretion and sound judgment with their attire, personal appearance and habits and to maintain a professional image at the Forum. The following is a breakdown of daily clothing requirements: own arrangements to get to the airport in time for your flight. You must sign out with our Office Coordinator before departing. We strongly recommend that you call SuperShuttle in advance to make reservations to be driven to the airport. They can be contacted at www.supershuttle.com or (800) 258-3826. If you are arriving a day early or staying a day late, you must make your own arrangements with a hotel. Keep in mind that our shuttle service is only available on the first and last day of the Forum and that forum staff will only be on hand and responsible for students during the time of the Forum. Some hotels that are convenient to the forum site are listed below. Please note that many hotels will not register unaccompanied minors and you might need to make special arrangements in advance. • Crowne Plaza Tysons Corner Hotel – 1960 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, VA 22102 – (877) 227-6963; (703) 893-2100 • Comfort Inn Tysons Corner – 1587 Spring Hill Road, Vienna, VA 22182 – (877) 424-6423; (703) 448-8020 • Tysons Corner Marriott – 8028 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA 22182 – (800) 228-9290; (703) 734-3200 • Sheraton Premiere at Tysons Corner – 8661 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA 22182 – (800) 325-3535; (703) 448-1234 Daytime Evening Tuesday Casual Professional Wednesday Professional Professional Thursday Professional Relaxed Professional Friday Professional Casual Saturday Professional Professional/Semi-formal* Sunday Casual e-mail: law_adm@nylf.org web site: www.nylf.org 5 WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW NOW: Read the Information for Scholars and Families booklet. This is vital information. Make travel arrangements (we recommend Omega World Travel for assistance). Review the Academic Preparation information. This is strongly recommended. Send a Press Release to local news media. This can be accessed in the Enrolled Students section on the web site at www.nylf.org/LAW using the password justice. Submit the online Travel and Information Form at www.nylf.org/LAW/travel by the deadline listed in your acceptance letter. This is required for all attendees. Visit the online community NYLF has set up for enrolled students at http://community.nylf.org. Contact our Office of Admissions at (703) 584-9403 regarding any special medical needs so we may make necessary arrangements for you. WHAT TO BRING TO THE FORUM: Bring your Information for Scholars and Families booklet with you. We recommend that parents also keep a copy of the booklet at home. If you have health insurance coverage, please bring with you copies of the front and back of your insurance card. Remember to bring $8 to $10 a day for lunch and any extra spending money if you would like to purchase souvenirs. If you will be utilizing NYLF’s shuttle service, have your $40 (check, money order or cash) round-trip or one-way shuttle fee with you. Complete the Medical Information & Authorization form on the back of the Bring On Arrival Day! card and bring it with you on arrival day. This is required. We recommend that parents keep a copy of this information at home. Bring a photo ID (a government-issued ID is recommended). On arrival day, please contact the forum office at (866) 298-2834 if you or your flight is delayed. All concerns prior to arrival day should be forwarded to the Office of Admissions at (703) 584-9403. *The closing event is a professional/semi-formal dinner dance, where students may wear either professional attire, like that worn throughout the week, or semi-formal/evening wear (i.e. formal gown for women and three-piece suit for men). PROFESSIONALATTIRE: Professional attire is required during the day and for some evening events at the Forum. • For men: A blazer, shirt and tie, slacks (no denim) or a suit. Dress shoes are required. Athletic shoes are NOT permitted. • For women: Dresses, blouses, skirts, pants or suits (no denim or sheer fabrics). Dress shoes are required, although heels are not recommended.
