I was just wondering if anyone knows how many people are nominated and how. Like are there a certain number from each high school or area or state...

I really don't understand this. I got some letter in the mail saying it was an awesome opportunity, but I've never heard of it and don't know what to do

I went on-line and researched the program (along with the Lieutenant General (Ret)) who signed it. There are 450-600 students per session (nationwide) that will attend and although that sounds like a lot, compared to the number of high school kids it really is not.
LG Christman did hold a position at West Point, was an assistant to the Chairman of the Joint COS. He has spoken on several shows about his political views.
I am allowing my daughter to attend (it was her choice) and think it will be a good opportunity for her to meet people for other parts of the US and broaden her ideas of the government.

My son was invited in his junior year as well to the med forum but did not go. His girlfriend went and had an awesome time . She even got to see a heart surg. performed in Boston. This is a once in a life time opportunity. The price is great as well for what the students get to experience as well as broadening their horizons to how our gov't runs and how nat'l security works.
