Some people may get to, some will not. If you are very interested in one place like Annapolis I would recommend you write a well thought letter as to why you feel so strongly about this choice. If you also had a teacher write a letter why this would be an especially good site visit for you then I am sure that it will be taken into consideration when you are being assigned a site. I would send this in writing of course. As soon as possible as the forum is nearing.

Are you by chance trying to get into an academy?

If so, let me recommend something even more valuable. Call and write your Congressman's office in Washington DC. Let them know you are interested in an academy nomination and you would like to introduce yourself. Check out the sample calender on the main website to find out what day you will be visiting Capital Hill. (Usually on Wednesday). You could also request a meeting with both the Senators from your state, but you will probably have better luck with your congressman.

Go to this site if you do not know who your Rep. is:

https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml

Let me know if you have more questions about academy nominations.

Cheer!

Dear Scholar Thomas,

I think you missed my point here. Everyone will go to Capitol Hill. If you want to go to the Naval Academy you will need a congressional recommendation. This is a great opportunity as part of a professional conference to set an appointment with your Rep. to introduce yourself to try and get a nomination.

So send a letter requesting an appointment for tentatively Wed. The time might tentatively be 3-4 pm. Ask them to be flexible. You can also call and fax. Or check out their website.

This link is for you to enter your zip code, with those last 4 numbers too. Grab something from the mail, it is usually added there. Or if you already know your rep.... Like I live in Congresswoman Kathy Castor's District... etc.

On the website's (look up by name) you will see email addresses, online requests, and fax requests. Hit me up on here again if you still can't find it.

Then write the letter:

To The Honorable F Name L Name,

I hope this letter reaches you in the best of spirits and health. ..... I would like to introduce myself..... I am pursueing the opportunity to serve my country in the US Nanvy.I would like to attend the Naval academy.... I will be in DC on XX and as part of the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security. As part of the leadership conference, we will be on Capital Hill on Wednesday. I would appreciate the opportunity to visit your office between 3-4 pm.

Sincerely,

Name Name
Addy
phone
email.

---

Once you send it as an email, fax, or letter then call. All appt. requests must be in writing first though. When you call their official office in DC ask to speak with the "scheduler." Every office has this person who coordinates the calendar....
