Hi there! I went to the October 6-11 NYLF:NS forum. As to your question on dresses, formal dress isn't necessarily an actual dress - I know for guys it was almost entirely dress shirt/tie/sportcoat, but many of the girls there wore skirts with a dress shirt, dress suits (occasionally), sundresses, etc. Just follow the guidelines they give you (there should be a sheet that goes out eventually, if you haven't gotten it already). And finally, as for the uniforms, there are often JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps, basically a high school ROTC) members that attend, so they can wear their dress uniforms if they choose to. I hope that helps - if you have any other questions post 'em and someone will get back soon. Good luck!
