i have no clue what the experience will be like but i feel that it will definately be life-altering. as for the lectures, it says we will participate in group meetings but i don't think you have to stand in front of everyone & state your opinion. everyone else in the forum has said you can wear dress pants. you won't miss out on not being a part of the jrotc program[i am not in it either] but i'm thinking that those students are more recognized than others. travel is supposed to be scheduled through omega world travel like it said in that packet you received in the mail. this program looks great on college transcripts & will probably help you to better you career in life. most people don't know about this cause everyone i've talked to about it never had any clue about this program but some do. some aspire to go to this program. read the faq site & the packet again if you want to learn more about this forum. that probably will be a problem.
i wish to go to the forum in the spring. i hope that you still do too & do some more research on it. :] have a great day. |

Don't worry, while there are a lot of JROTC members, there are plenty of us average ones there as well. As for dress, you can wear dress pants, skirts, blouses, business suits etc..., there are also times where you'll be able to wear jeans and a tshirt if you want(mainly the last day where there's a lot of sightseeing involved.) No single student is more recognized than another.
Also parents aren't exactly involved with this, basically it's six days of intense learning and fun, and you wouldn't really have time to be around them anyway. as for the previous knowledge aspect, that's not really a problem, just start paying attention to the news, and look up stuff involving national security. |

What is the definition of business attire?
I dont believe that I own alot, if any at all. I also am just an average person that was worried about how many people there are in the JROTC compared to people that don't do that kind of thing.. |

I don't see why being a part of the JROTC makes a difference. There are going to be things that we can find to segregate ourselves (grade, where you're from, etc.), but we are all going to be together. Our roommates are randomly assigned and I'm sure that since members of the JROTC are people, we will all feel included and have a lot of fun.
Also, numbers of people affiliated with different organizations fluctuate each year. |
