I know that there are two hotels set up for the 2/14 session, and I was wondering if we're allowed to move between the hotels during the day or after all the important business, or are we stuck where we're put?

Umm... good question.

My thought is that the hotels are not next to eachother and that it would not be feasible for students to be out and about. That may be totally wrong, though.

Make sure you get this clarified when you go.

Why are there two hotels? My acceptance packet didn't say that, was it just decided?

The hotels still have regular guests in them, so I am assuming that it is more cost effective for NYLF to reserve in different hotels. I'm really not sure about the specific circumstances of your trip. Sorry.

Do we have to show up for the first day dressed in our suits and whatnot, or do we show up casual and get changed after we settle into the rooms?

Arrive in your preferred travel dress and, once at the hotel, you will have time to change before the first meeting.

For the guys... do we ALWAYS have to wear a sports coat? Or will slacks, dress shirt, and tie be ok?

I have 2 suits and 2 sport coats, but for the 1st night we are there... will a shirt and tie be ok?

You should always have a sport coat / suit. I think that more informal activities would permit you to take off your jacket. Do not worry about wearing the same thing twice.

There may be access in a computer lab in the hotel but there is seriously not time for such activity. Basically, you will not need it and, therefore, accomodations are not made specifically for personal use.

there is wireless net access. one of my roomies had her lap top with her, but we hardly ever got the time to use it. we played music in the morning to wake us up, and music during a break, and during the scenario, she typed up her article, and the rest of us maybe checked our email once. you really dont have the time for it, and it is more fun without it, i think

Wait, so your friend used her laptop to wake up. How are the rest of us gonna wake up? Is there an alarm clock or anything?

It's a regular hotel room -- there is an alarm clock.
