2009 Fall NS Attendee

Hey all,

I looked through topics from previous years, and many of the attendees wore uniforms from all JROTC's, Young Marines, and Civil Air Patrol. I was wondering what uniforms would be acceptable.
The supply officers over the past couple of years got tired of keeping track of the Service A coats, so they got the SMI to get rid of them. They never got tie clasps, so Service B without the sweater is not an option. so the only Service uniform available for my unit is Service C an B w/ sweater (I will be attending the first fall session, so sweater is not an option). I was wondering if Service B would be required, or if Service C would suffice.
for those who don't know what I'm blathering about:
Service C:
Green Slacks
Short Sleeve Khaki Shirt
Ribbons and Badges
Green Garrison Cover or Green Barracks Cover
Black Shoes

Service B:
Green Slacks
Long Sleeve Khaki Shirt
Ribbons and Badges
Khaki Tie
Tie Clasp
Green Garrison Cover or Barracks Cover
Black Shoes
optional:
Green Wool Sweater

Service A:
Green Slacks
Long Sleeve Khaki Shirt
Green Coat
Ribbons and Badges
Khaki Tie
Tie Clasp
Green Garrison Cover or Barracks Cover
Black Shoes

I was wondering that too because I am an AFJROTC cadet and was wondering whether we bring our uniforms or not.

ah, AFJROTC. How many people do you have in your unit? What do you all usually get in inspections? What rank and position do you hold in your unit? I am currently the S-3 (operations) officer for my unit. hehe, sorry bout all the questions.

From what I saw a lot of people brought their uniforms. a couple of people wanted to wear cammies, but it is not acceptable to the forum. I'm not sure you should have full blues, but you should have both an open-collar and a closed-collar uniform, and a tie with the closed-collar uniform. I gotta scramble to get a tie clasp for my Service Bravos.
oh, tell me how the Air Force organizes their uniforms, what do they call them?

I do not see why not, personally. but then again I am not really informed in that area, hopefully some past attendees can tell us. or maybe you should look in the old NS and DID forums for that info, I am sure that you could find the answer somewhere in there

now, from what the people said in the old forums is that many people brought their uniforms from JROTC's and all that

I'm not in ROTC, but i am an explorer... should I bring my uniform, or just stick with the suits and skrits?

I'm not familiar with the organization you're in. I suppose it would be acceptable if the uniform you're talking about goes with the dress code.
I would say bring it, and ask someone who knows more about both the organization you're in and the forum.

Well, that is certainly safe to do, just bring your dress uniform. I am sure with the air force, as with other services, there is some kind of uniform with a short-sleeve/long sleeve shirt or the like.
Marines have the Service Bravos and Service Charlies/Dress Charlies and Dress Deltas.
Army has Class B's and Class C's
I am sure Air Force has similar names to the Army.
I am going to be bringing my Service B, Service C, and Dress B uniforms. I am thinking of using Service C or Dress D for casual days. I hate polos.
Now I am not sure if I will be wearing the Dress B's, if you know what they look like, they certainly do not look like business attire, its more or less equivalent to a real fancy 3-piece suit. You know, just short of a tux.

I am in NJROTC and am planning on bringng my uniform, but i don't know if I should bring the casual khaki uniform or the dress blue uniform. I guess i'll just bring them both and decide once I get there.

If you are going to bring your uniforms bring the full sevice dress. There are some days you need it and other days where you can wear class B. For police explorers, don't bring your uniforms. Your uniforms are duty uniforms not formal. If you have any more questions let me know.

All of those seem professional enough. My son wore his NJROTC uniforms. As long as they Are dress and not "Cammies" or "Greens" you should be ok. Figure it as PI dress for the uniforms.
