If we were to fly in, would we have to already be in suit n tie? or could we wear casual clothes? Also, is there any free-time available where we could even wear casual clothes, so should I even bother packing them?
When flying in on the first day, you don't have to be in a suit and tie. However, it wouldn't be a bright idea to show up in ripped jeans and flip-flops. Just wear what you normally would on the first day of school. (If you don't go to a private school that requires a uniform.)
Regarding your second question, there will be a dance held in the hotel, the night before you head home. During that night, and several other times within the week, you will be allowed to wear causual clothes.
Also, if you are a JROTC, Civil Air Patrol, or Young Marines member, it would be a great idea to pack your service dress uniform. Just a guess from glancing at your username.
On casual attire after everything is done at the end of the day and you're just hanging out I would wear jeans and a conservative shirt or something like that, and there was also a casual time during the scenario that I wore jeans and a flannel shirt or something like that. Only thing is though that was October 2005 so I don't know how much has changed since then.

Z28wanted, You are correct! Not much has changed since 2005. I attended the forum last spring and it was the same way we had a few days where we were allowed to where casual wear and there was also a point during the scenerio that we were able to dress casual!
I believe that they told us that casual clothes were appropriate on arrival day, but that ,while experiencing the forum, you should wear business attire. As an aside, which session are you going to in October?

I'm flying in from San diego so there is no way that I am flying in business attire. I fly a lot but I prefer to be comfortable and sleep and not have to worry about getting all wrinkly.

Yes, thats probably not the best attire to wear, even if it is casual. I think flip flops would be okay but I dont think ripped jeans would...Oh and I heard this from a friend at school who went last year: Bring a decent amount of casual clothing just in case.

One of my friends went to the Forum on Medicine last year, and on the last night they had some kind of party. The dress she said was kind of fancy. Is that the same for all the forums?
I'm bringing it just in case.....but it doesn't say anything about it in that handbook they sent us. I share your senitments about dresses, if i can get out of it I will.
Just curious. I have dress uniforms for both AFJROTC and the Civil Air Patrol, as well as BDU's for both. Can my BDU's count as casual attire?(They would, of course be clean, ironed, and have dazzling boots.)

Hey i'm also curious, this may sound like simply parroting back the packet I received, but here goes:
If I were to where a par of nice looking pants coupled with a button-up t-shirt (like the ones from abercrombie that are expensive and professional looking [or as professional as abercrombie can be]) and then I subsequently have a sweater over that, does that count as professional attire?

I'm in the Young Marines program and the people from Nationals told me to bring one of my Service Uniforms. But to answer your question BDU's are never considered casual they are made for field use only. We have inspections in our BDUs and they look good and all but when you are trying to look "simi-prof" or "Casual" then you wear a service uniform.
