no its fine. Its great to have someone that joined in. I kinda hoped that someone would get drawn in by our witty banter. ^.^
Yes, that movie is AMAZINGGG!!! So, you are from....[checks the profile] Texas? That is SOOOOOOOOO cool! aha...this is funny because I am FREEZING my butt off here in MO. Unfair. I bet its warm there. ugh. I HATE cold weather. But this is good because I now know 2 nice poeple who will be there at the forum (not that the onther people wont be nice, but I dont KNOW them) ^.^ So what are YOUR interests? anything in common with the nerd here that you read about? *.* |

Hi Angelina (: If you haven't read already,
I'm Tami. As Melanie mentioned, we are totally happy to meet someone new. (Btw, I wonder what happened to that JJOHNSON guy) Haha, my mom is a kung-fu lover. Especially of that guy Jackie Chan. Is he in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon? Or is it a serious kung-fu movie? Anyways, no, I've never watched Phantom of the Opera. My friend and I were planning a sleepover a long time ago to watch it, but we never did. I've always wanted to, though. Don't worry, I'll try to lose an inch or two, just in case your pants ARE too tight. (Oh gosh, I laughed so hard when I read the part about wearing shades...it was super hilarious!) Nice meeting you, Angelina! (I say it twice to emphasize that I'm REALLY glad to have met you) Tell us more about you. Grade? Age? Likes? Dis- likes? Fears? Anything and everything (: |

GASP! Tami, you MUST watch it. There is no question abojut it. I AM brining Phantom of the Opera. It is so melodramatic that we will be DYING of laughter, but I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! (that movie) And Crouching Tiger is serious, but also beautiful. And the martial arts sequences are to die for. aha. They are so well done that I had a hard time believing that it was rehearsed.
Don't worry about losing an inch or two! My pants are loose on me both in the waist and hte legs (cuz I'm short). Well, if short counts as 5 foot 3 inches at the age of 16. Hmmmmmm, well not actually 16, but I will be in a few days, so whatever! ^.^ I'm TOTALLY serious about the "shades" part. Would that not be the coolest thing ever?!?! This trip is gonna be so cool of both you guys are going on it. Oh, and by the way, if anyone is reading this forum who is going to houston first session....sorry, we kinda took over this thread. lol. But please please join if you are going, so we will know more popele! And then we can give you the third-degree about yourself like I did to Tami and she did to me! ^.^ The definition of a string quartet: A good violinist... A bad violinist... A would-be violinist... And someone who hates the violin. All getting together to complain about composers. What is the difference between a violin and a viola? There is no difference. The violin just looks smaller because the violinist's head is so much bigger. |

first i have to agree, the phantom of the opera is a REALLY good movie. no joke, i pretty much know every single word to it. i also like finding neverland with johnny depp in it. i cry every time i watch it. lol.
but anyways. I live in huffman texas. today it was really sunny and it was like 70 degrees outside. (it felt amazing). im 16, i will be 17 in june. im a sophomore and go ahead call me crazy but i love to run and stay in shape. i run on the varsity cross country and track team. no joke my life pretty much revolves around running and racing and all that kind of stuff. I like reading the twilight series. me and my friends are all obsessed with edward cullen (the main character in the book). if you haven't read it you are pretty much missing out on life. haha. btw im really glad i met yall too. im glad i wont feel like a complete stranger when we go to the forum this summer p.s. sorry i say yall. some people not from texas say its funny. but hey i've grown up in texas. thats the us country hicks talk here. haha. lol. |

That them there is UONE furny accent!
Seriously, I'm from Missouri, so all the hick jokes are directed in my direction; I feel your pain. ^.^ Yeah, I've read Twilight. It's a great series. But I almost DIED when I saw the movie for 2 reasons: In the baseball scene, they played Supermassive Black Hole, by MUSE, which is my most FAVORITE song in the whole world (give me a few seconds to think of another one, but I really DO love that song) And my friend and I went to see it on the first day, so we had these HORDES of middle-school girls with their twilight backpacks and books (WHY they needed them I have no idea) coming into the theater. When Edward, Carsile, and James each entered the theater would EXPLODE with squeals. (Literally. No joke. It was the loudest with Ames because he was missing his shirt in his entrance *.*)I fell out of my seat, I was laughing so hard. That is SO cool that you like to excercise. I would go on walks more if I could, but its freezing here, so I have to wait until spring....ick. So what kinda music do you like? Oh, and have you read Twilight, Tami? |

haha. im glad you know how i feel. they think we do nothing but ride our horses to school and have rodeos everyday down here. but honestly, its not THAT bad. haha.
yeah i went and saw it when it first came out. the people in my theater wern't really bad when james came out but the first time edward made his appearance all the people in the theater were screaming. to be honest with you though i was kinda disappointed with the movie. they could have chose a cuter edward. no joke emmett and jacob are WAYYYYY hotter than edward and its supposed to be the other way around. haha. about my taste of music. i honestly love everything from oldies to hard core rock. lol. it just depends on my mood. but i mainly listen to the maine, the all-american rejects, a change of pace, and dashboard confessional. but i don't have a favorite genre or anything. i just listen to whatever. |

I've only read the first book,
and watched the movie for a field- trip. One of my really close friends here is a total Twi-nerd (that's what she calls herself). And we're kind of the same height, Melanie;] Oh my gosh, I love Vindicated by Dashboard Confessional and Move Along by AAR. Cool! And you're right about Edward. Almost every girl I know thinks he's cute, but I think they should have picked Garrett Hedlund (if you watched Eragon, he's Murtagh). He's cute and would probably look better as a vampire. But that's just me. Right now, I'm listening to Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillait. It's so relaxing. Have you heard it? I'm not too fond of running, but I was in vol- leyball, and we ran quite a bit. Now I'm in paddling, and running is not so important. But I know I have to shave off a few pounds, so I'm probably going to start running again soon. |

thats funny how you say you like garrett hedlund. no joke i LOVE him he is sooooo cute. especially in the movie four brothers (despite the fact he is *** and he dies in the end) I like Colbie Caillait too :] i actually went to her concert back a few months ago. it was good. |

They are al amazing. Liek you guys, I pretty much watch and listen to whatever. I'll be watching the movie Memoirs of a Geisha soon. Have any of you seen that movie? It is to DIE for!!! And the book is great too. I LOVe the book.
I agree. Edward looks like Cedric. There is no way out of that. Like how Gandalf looks like Magneto. It's inevitable. But I started freaking out and laughing hysterically when I found out this: Edward plays Salvador Dali (a weird artist) in his next movie, and has the most AMAZING mustache ever.....just a sec....heres the URL for a picture: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_MO7y...ert_pattinson320.jpg look at the picture on that URL. I couldnt stop laughing!!! HAHAHAH, It's making me laugh even now! Hooray for short girls going on this trip! I was so TALL in middle school and then suddenly,.. everyone was tall and I was short. ...sniffle... And dont even get me started on the GIANT seniors that go to our school. Speaking of school, how big is yours Angelina? Tami's and my schools are about 2000 people, is your as big or bigger? |

I'm 5'2".
We dont get much famous people, and we barely know when they're on island, because when they come, they stay in their hotel rooms. The last time there was a concert was when Smashmouth came, but it was a school day. However, we do get a lot of reggae concerts. Like, A LOT. PS. What do those three asterisks stand for? |

***? Possbly?
Hooray for short people! I'm around 5'3", but everyone around me at least 3 inches taller. I feel so SMALL at times!!!...sniffle... I dont really go to many concerts that much. Its just something I never have TIME to do, plus KC is not a very BIG city....its wide, but not too many people. Bleh. But thats OK! Yeah, once the weather warms up I'll probably make a very sincere, pathetic effort to get in shape again. Bleh. *.* Oh, and I TOTALLY agree about Edward. But it cracks me up, because a movie was released where he play Salvador Dali, some crazy artist who has the most HILARIOUS mustache EVER!. Here is an AMAZING picture of him: (I almost DIED laughing, he looked so dumb! http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_MO7y...ert_pattinson320.jpg |

huh....I dont burn wither...I just stand by a lightbulb for about 1/2 and hour and then I'm brown. Seriously. Me friends all get mad because I go outside for 2 hours, and when I go in, it looks like I took a vacation in California for 2 weeks.
It's STILL freezing here, I can't wait for spring to kick like it is SUPPOSED to this time or year....grumble.... ^.^ |

Hey! I'm tan too
I'm more brown than tan. Any- ways, my sunburn went away. It only lasts for like a day or two on my skin. Hey, how are you guys paying for the tuition? |
|||
|
|
2009 Med Attendee |
ummmmmmm, well, my parents are chippig in to help me out. I pay for some of it, and then they will cover the rest.
I should also probably get a part-time job after or before the trip to make sure I help my savngs account recover for later things...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... |
