Hey everyone! Welcome Kate-Lee!! Congrats on the CNA. I thought about taking it this year, how was the course? I took my CPR, Heartsaver, and First-Aid training course instead.
Oh, and Adriana Queen Rocks!!! It sounds like everyone has traveled the world except me. I'm just a small town girl, I live in a town of 800 people and on a dairy farm in the middle of Iowa!! Not the most exciting lifestyle, but it worksWink Where does everyone else reside? This was probably said in earlier pages but I'm a newbie Smile

aww I love little towns! i think it would be so cool for everyone to know each other. Although, I have been going to school with the same group of people for 12 years now, and I must admit I am looking forward to meeting new people in college! Raleigh's not really huge, but I would consider it a big city. Welcome new posters! O and I just thought of a topic that no one brought up yet...since I am a huge animal lover...does anyone have pets?? I have a black and white cocker spaniel named Oreo and an ugly beta fish named Spunk. haha...i would love to hear about everyone elses!

Hi Allison!I live in Buffalo and it's really not that exciting anymore, the only thing here to do is go to the movies (but the security is off the hook) or the mall (but you can't b there by yourself unless ur 18 at the mall where all the stores are at) I mean u can go bowling or go to game zone or lazertron but those things are out of peoples way...I used to have a dog, but he got taken away and my dad wouldn't get him back Frown

i also have a certification in cpr and first aid. but i go to a vocational high school and i am in the health careers shop. so that is our curriculum, meaning we learn how to be a cna. the course itself isnt to bad, just a lot of hard work thats all. then next year i have enrolled in an emt course because i am already a cna. if u have any more questions about the cna just im or email me. i have a pomeranian named snowball. and the farthest i have ever been is florida, so i havent traveled the world either. i also come from a small town. i like small town life, its nice and quiet. anyone can im me when they want to.

I'm glad to know that other people live in small towns too! It's nice that you know so many people in a small town, but everyone else seems to know about my business before I do! Our town has a lot of history too. We have The Grotto of the Redemption a.k.a. a big rock pile Father Doberstein built among sodhouses and other stuff. Hey thanks for the info Kate-Lee! Oh and I have lots of pets, two Beta's(Bob & Gill), a cat Chloe, a beagle Boomer, and a quarterhorse Brick.

I obviously joined in this a bit late, but I might as well join now better than never. So...hi! My name is Kate, I'm from Long Island(which is basically the suburbs of NYC, but nothing like it). I'm 15(16 in August) and go to St. Anthony's High School. I'm reeeeeeally shy, but I'm hoping that I'll be able to come out of my shell for you guys. Erm, I've had a boyfriend for 1 1/2 yrs. I listen to all sorts of rock music(basically all besides the whole "Scene" "Emo" "hXc" -whatever that's become popular here lately). And...I can't think of anything else to say. So, hey if ya wanna get to know me...you can e-mail me...because...you're just that nice. Big Grin

Welcome Kate! Im not sure if your school is the one I'm thinking of, but by any chance, is there a guy named Brother Gary or Brother Richard there? If not, it must be some other school in LI. It's never too late to come on the message boards. And don't worry about being shy cuz everyone is going there not knowing anyone else...so this message board should help as well as IM to get to know some people. I've already gotten to know a couple...it's great! I'll definitely IM anyone i see online!

Hey everyone, my name is Vicki! I live in a small town in Montgomery County. I love music--I play the piano, sing, and listen to tons of music. I also love art, reading, and writing. I am a "theatre kid" at my school. I'm really interested in medicine and hope to be a doctor someday. I'm not sure what kind..I'm interested in psychiatry and endocrinology (because I'm a type 1 diabetic).
Anyways, I look forward to meeting all you cool catsWink

AIM-- moonlit syren

Yeah, you're thinking of the right school. Brother Gary is the principal and Brother Richard is...the short brother. I'm guessing from the thing saying you're from North Carolina you're maybe from the school that the brothers occasionally visit? Anyways, if you see me online feel totally free to IM me, it would make me tres tres heureuse. =)

Happy Birthday! I've heard of Medford, but I don't know exactly where it is. And, I'm sorry, but I don't know Marissa Sciacca. =/ Have a great birthday, and by the way you've got a cute chihuahua. Later.

Hey, welcome Kate-Lee, Kate, and Vicky. And thanks for the happy birthday keisha, hope you enjoy yours. That's cool about your CNA exam Kate-Lee, I'm certified for CPR, AED, and first aid, but i'm still waiting for the card.
I'm from a small town too, nothing happening here, but at least we have access to NYC and Danbury, CT. We have something like the Grotto of Redemption in our town, Allison. The Balancing Rock: North Salem's greatest landmark. It's basically a boulder balancing on 2 stones.
Let's see, I have a guinea pig named Gidget (used to have another named Gadget) and a Comet (type of fish) that's huge and living way longer than a fish should. I used to have a dog named Snowy, but she died. She was a white cocker spaniel/poodle. Well, talk to you all later, feel free to im me on aim at snowdancer610 or email and other stuff on my pro

It's July 1st everyone...that means just 16 more days until DC! I'm so excited (i guess that's pretty obvious Smile) How do you all become CNA's? I've never even heard of that! I just started volunteering/shadowing at a hospital so I'm assuming that's sort of the same thing??
I'm really glad so many of you all are small-town people, too Smile Growing up in east TN is definitely an experience...you sort of have to learn how to find fun (i'm sure you all know all about that though)! I'm really looking into going to college in the northeast so maybe one day I'll get to see what life is like outside of east TN!
I have 2 dogs (huskey and a retriever) and 4 cats...yes, my house is like a zoo..haha, not really Smile
Congrats on getting your permit, Keisha! Driving is soo much fun Smile I've been doing it for almost 3 years now and it's still exciting (see how naive i can be?!)
Vicky- I'm type 1 diabetic too! (that shouldnt be an "!", but it's always cool to meet someone who understands how much of a pain it can be sometimes). How long have you had it?? I was diagnosed going on 14 years now.
New topic (or I'm going to attempt here..Smile) Do you all have any idea where you want to go specifically in the med field?
Ok, I think I'm done now Smile Welcome all of you new people! I'm glad to see we're growing on here! Feel free to IM me anytime Blondiecc004586.
Later!

I have searched everywhere and I can't find anything. It shouldn't be this difficult! I'm sure we'll all have many packing questions in the next few weeks...July is coming quickly Smile

Is anyone else here horrendously scared, or am I the only one? I'm really afraid of the amount of people there may be(how many are there anyways?!?!) and that I'm going to end up alone. I'm more scared than excited. I'm also worried that the only "fun" things that we'll possibly do is see monuments, which I've seen and I dunno. I'm just so worried I'm getting a bad stomach-ache from this..
