I hear we have to take a TB test if we had not had one in a while. Have any of you not taken one and had a limited experience? Do we have a limited experience there if we don't take it?
you probly wont be allowed to do anything in a hospital because I know its a requirement to volunteer at hospitals. Their not bad. you probly cant do any job shadowing or hospital activities.
So I'm guessing they're saying we need one for safety reasons, as in you might contract this disease walking around in the hospital if you don't get it and isn't that kind of annoying to get one every year?
You're sure correct about me not liking shots, I'm not afraid, just don't like them, oh well, I'm just trying to decided whether or not to get it. It's more difficult for me than you know
You just have to make sure that you have time to go back and get your arm looked at before your session. You normally go back a couple days after they inject the stuff.
I know, my brother got one once, actually twice, the first time he got the test he couldn't go back because he didn't feel well, then he had to get retested and it was a false positive, my mom was enraged well atleast that's what she told me
hey...i just had mine today...not that bad...they inject some thing into your forearm and it burns for a little bit but not that bad...it gives you a bump and you have to go back two days later to have the test read. if the bump goes down it is negative, if the bump stays it is positive...i also had to get the second dose of varecella for chicken pox since i've never had it :P trust me...i hate shots...the TB test isn't that bad.

I guess I might get it, still pondering, I didn't think it would be bad in the first place. I remember when I was younger and saw my sister get a shot, it must of hurt because she screamed, LOUD.
The TB shot has to be the most pathetic excuse for a shot thats out there. It's no big deal, not even worth a second thought. Then again I dont mind them at all, so its different for everyone. Just remember if you all become doctors someday, you will be the one giving out the shots :]
Oh and yes, you can barely do anything in a hospital without one. so yeah...

I'm not really concerned about the pain and just the fact of getting a shot, what is going in my body through the shot is what I'm concerned about. I have an autistic brother who's had lots of shots and I have seen how they have had an affect on him, i don't want the same for me
I had to get a meningitis vaccine when i got my TB test. It was not bad either. But, like Robert, I don't mind shots. Lumbar punctures are a piece of cake for me.
