Hey, I've been considering getting involved in my schools sports med program. It seems really cool, and I've gotten to know more about it through the people I met at wrestling (I was a manager, I lack the athletic ability to play much of anything for an actual team). Also I noticed that we're going to the same session! Do you have aim?

*thanks y'all!!*

We help athletes. We do rehab before and after practice and any treatment that needs to be done. We tape injuries and monitor games and practices in case somethings happens. If it does we do our best to help the situation and get the athlete back to playing as soon as possible. If you have any specific questions let me know.

That sounds really cool. I wish my school had something like that! My friend and I are starting a Medical Science Club this spring, and maybe we can eventually start a Sports Medicine Program within the club, but that's a whole other project...

hey!
so i'm definitely thinking about doing sports medicine or pediatrics or both?
im currently a student athletic trainer but i'd never do that seeing what our head trainers go through...but i think it's soo exciting and amazing to be at the sidelines and always being on ur feet ready for whatever could happen...pretty much my favorite part...
oh, and idk about your schools, but we deal with hydration so free gatorade is always a plus =]

Yesssssssss!!!!! Sports Medicine Rocks!! I have been involved since I was in the 8th grade. I have worked with football, basketball, baseball, and it is so cool. The athletes depend on you to keep them in the game. You keep them hydrated, taped up, push when they need it, make them sit when then don't want to, etc. I have assisted sewing up football players in the locker room during half-time when they have a gash in their face.......OMG that rocks! I also am a student athletic trainer with a pro. indoor football team. I have seen some pretty crazy injuries on the arena floor during games and practices! I know I want to be involved in Sports Med. ........just not sure what exactly I want to do with it yet!!

Yes, I'm in the Sports med program at school, and I absolutely LOVE it. I either want to do Physical Therapy of Athletic Training when I get out of school.
