You guys are going to have SO much fun! Summer in the city is fantastic, it's not overly hot nor humid (but if hot and humid is your cup of tea, a twenty minute drive south will satisfy you.)
Have fun in this amazing city, don't get beat down by the slope of the hills here (even if they look vertical), and remember our motto, if you feel a rumbling, duck and cover!
Hahah, yeah I live in SF too and it's pretty hot during the summer. It'll be really fun to basically walk to the forum from my house.
