i just got back form LA Session 1 and the caucuses are basically debates. you have to do resarch in the books they give you, it is a pretty fun experience. everyone in my group got all fired up, so that made it interesting Big Grin. Have fun!!

I just got back from DC Session 2 Smile
These caucuses are debates. You are put in a group and are assigned a topic. Like hockeyfan said, you have to do research on that topic in the books they give you. You have to research both the pros and the cons, and on the day of the debate, they tell you which one your group has (pro or con). Everybody is required to talk, but it's really not that bad. hope this helped a little! Smile

I just got home from houston session 1, literally. And they are debates that you research in the books they give you. They are fun and VERY interesting. My group was split into 4, and all groups won. Big Grin

My group was totally halfway prepared, and we wanted affirmative for animal testing, it was awful, we got negative. We had pretty good arguments, but the thing was attitudes. The other group had a crummy attitude and you have to present yourself in a way that makes your point subtle, but not all-knowing and cocky.

I did positive for the patient privacy one, and both sides were really good (at least I hope we were...). I had a lot of fun with it, but I think judging was even more great; I judged for the animal testing one and I asked each side a highly emotionally charged question. I don't remember what I asked the negatives, but the positives something like
"How can you justify running tests on something that can't give consent?!"
