I was just thinking of ways we can get this subtopic of the message boards started, because look at it- there are only four posts so far! C'mon, guys, we are the NYLF attendees of 2008!! Feel some pride!

So, anyway, I was wondering if any of you have been to the place where you will be attending NYLF. I'm going to Boston (session 3), and I've been there a couple times (actually, several times, but not even half as many times as I've been to NYC). I know most people try to go to cities where they have never been, but I just love Boston! Plus, I love the colleges there. I have been trying to look at colleges outside of New England, but I just find myself attracted to them.

So, where are you going for NYLF and is will that be the first time you will be going there? If you've been there before, what did you like about it that made you want to go again?

TTYL!

Question:
So, have you been there before?

Choices:
Yes
No

I'm off to the Los Angeles program, and part of the reason I chose LA is because I'm pretty familiar with the city. I've got a bunch of friends and relatives there, and I've also stayed at UCLA before.

So much for stepping out of my comfort zone.

LOL, that's not a problem. I'm not either (well, quite frankly, I would go to another country if I could, but my parents wouldn't approve, but that's not the point Wink ). So, when did you go to UCLA?

No problem! I'm glad you were able to join! And, yeah, I've been to my location a few times. You're going to LOVE DC! I went there for Jr. NYLC, and I found it to be such an interesting place.

Well, I'm going to the LA forum (session 1) and I've been to LA quite a few times, but I've never been/stayed at UCLA before. Technically, the San Francisco forum is the closest to where I live (SF is about 1 hour away), but I wanted to go to the LA forum instead (and plus I think it's more fun to go out to a "new" place and explore/learn about it).

I've never been to the east coast before (except Florida..lol), haha maybe I should go sometime.

It's funny. As someone who's never been to the West Coast, I feel exactly the opposite way. I'm dying to go to California, or just anywhere on the West Coast!

It seems like most people who go to NYLF either live on the East or West Coast, but there aren't many who live "in the middle." Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's just something I noticed.

Ha, I'm going to boston because I wanted to go to the east coast. I've only ever been there once, to visit my cousins in d.c. (I live in oregon, before that I lived in texas, and before that, nevada.)

Well, I was right regarding your current location, so I guess it's a good thing you moved, or I would have been wrong! Wink

I have relatives that live in DC so I have visited multiple times. I have never been to Georgetown though. I will at least have something new to see.

I'm going to DC session 1, and have never been there before. Sorry to prove you wrong Carissa, but I'm from WI, middle of the US. I don't know anyone (besides MattRollins) that is attending my session, and I'm completely nervous... I've been to the East Coast before, but never to DC. Smile

Hey guys, I'm from Madison, WI. This is one of the few times I'll have been out east, and I'm so PUMPED. I chose an eastern city for the sole purpose of going somewhere new. I'll be in DC for session 2, and I cant even wait!

Hi ya'll. I'm from Carthage, North Carolina. I will be going to the Chicago 1 session. I have been there a lot because my dad is orgianally from there and his entire side of the family lives there. I picked that city because I knew that it would calm my moms nerves about me traveling alone if I went somewhere where there is family. I will be heading out there a couple of days before the actual start date of the forum and I will leave a week and a half after. Since I want to spend some time with my family that I havn't seen in a while. Out here (the east side of the country) summers are VERY HUMID!!! Be prepared!!! If your coming from the west coast, you will feel like a wet dog the entire time. (I know this because I lived in nevada before moving to NC). If you have allergie meds I would bring them. Depending on the city and time the pollen is horrid!!

I hope you all have fun!! I know I will!! It's about 6months away and I'm already so pumped about it!!!

yeahh, i'm going to the atlanta one. i'm from georgia, and i live about three hours south of the capital, so it's definitely boring, but not far. i've been there a few times for things like beta convention, 4-H, shopping, georgia tech programs, or just passing through! i wanted to go to san francisco (i lovvvvee it!), but it's just too far away, and i'm a bit scared of going all that way by myself. idk, atlanta just seemed like the easiest, ya know?
