I can't believe I didn't think of this before, but what are the lunches in DC like? Cuz my mom wants to gets me a Visa cash card so I won't have to carry around all that money. Is that okay? or will I need cash?

Sometimes the lunches are on campus, meaning you can eat in the cafeteria (but you still have to pay about $11) or in other places that are on campus (like Subway, etc).
When you have your site visits (like to hospitals, or going sightseeing) lunch is on your own at that place. I think the visa should be fine, but I would also carry around some cash just in case. Med Forum 2008 Washington D.C. Session 2! GROUP CURIE! |

Hey, i just got back from session 2 in DC. 90% of the lunches are on campus and at a food court type thing nearby (NOT the dinning hall). there is taco bell, KFC, Subway, pizza hut, and then a whole other food buffet thing at the hotel adjacent to the food court. its regular fast food pricing. i personally just brought a bunch of cash, but i didnt nearly spend close to all of it. also, in my opinion (and alot of others), the dinning hall for dinner and breakfast isnt too good. I hope this helps! have fun!!
