Make it your mission while you're there to meet people from the message boards. Two of the first people I met there were Maureen Soso and Jooohhhhnnnn (or however many extra letters he added to his name). And the funny thing is that a ton of people kind of lurk on the message boards, but don't post. A lot of people from my session knew who I was sheerly due to my posting on here. That's not always good, but it was cool. So try to locate those people!
