hey everyone,
i have a few questions:
well so you know how when you first found out that you were nominated for the forum you were probably really excited and proud..or at least i was...ok well then i told one of my friends about it and she told me that she had gotten nominated like 3 times this year by her teachers and that people at her school get nominated all the time(she goes to BB&N if anyone has heard of it...really expensive private school and shes not going to the forum)...so then i realized it wasn't such a big deal and kinda felt stupid for telling her.
do you think that this is true? or was she just trying to bring me down?
i also heard from a few people that colleges frown upon the forum and they think its only for rich republican kids(not that there is anything wrong with that! )
what kind of rumors have you heard? hopefully none of them are true.
maybe im just getting too nervous haha, but i still want to go regardless of what people say.

Irene i wouldnt listen too much to the rumors because my college counselor and my school counselor both said it is a great thing to have on your college apps. besides if you are interested in going into this field as a career then i think it cant hurt

I asked my teacher who nominated me more about the forum but she didnt even know that much about it! So it helps to hear from other people.

When I first told my friends I was nominated, they told me that they had received tons of those nominations. They said they thought they were fake. I think there are a lot of "copy-cat" forum things that steal money, but only one of my friends has ever been to something liek this, and I think this is more hardcore than what she went to. Also, the teacher who nominated me has TOTALLY different political views than me, so I don't think its just for "rich republicans." Plus only one of the two alums from my school was a republican. Hope that helps.

I'm Vickie and I'm attending the Nov. 1-6 DID Forum. I'm 16 and I junior at Westlake High School in Waldorf Maryland. I live about 30 minutes from Washington DC. The forum isn't too far away for me. So I'll be driving. Well my parents will be driving me. Since I have yet to get my license.

Hi! My name is Kara, I will also be attending the DID Forum in November. I live in New Milford, CT, about 8 hours away from DC. I have never been to Washington before but I would really like to attend the US Military Academy at West Point for college, which is why I was nominated by my school.
