hey qwerty!

My plans for the summer are reading, homework, NYLF, helping family, and not much else. You?

This will be a jam-packed summer for me. My classes next year require extensive amounts of homework. Miserable. Bang Yet still fun. Go figure.

I will be a junior next year, and I'll be taking college level Biology, Algebra, year 2, Advanced choir, college level US History, college level English, and college level Spanish, year 4. I'm so excited for next year...What classes are all of you going to take next year, and what are you going to be? Soph, Jun, or Senior?

Welcome Sisi. I agree with kcherry...more people to know before we go, the better. So, what do you like to do in your spare time? Na-na
Just thought I'd throw that in there...looks funny.

let's see i like to play tennis and swim mostly and basically do anything thats fun, im pretty outgoing.

I'm gonna be a junior next year also so im taking some college level classes like in us history and french. I used to want to be a doctor that's why my teacher nominated me for this and also because I was really good at bio but I don't think I want to be one anymore. I'm still going to the nylf med forum though for fun and the experience!

Hey guys. I played volleyball and basketball on a school team in middle school, but have instead focused on academics in hs. I enjoy many sports and am able to do well in most excepting badmitton (sp?). Can't hit the birdie to save my life...sad really.

So, sisi, what changed your mind about wanting to be a doctor? What do you want to do instead? Why did you choose to go to a session on the West Coast instead of going on the East Coast with your friends?

yay i love questions! ok so..

1. I decided I didn't want to be a doctor because I actually started thinking about what I would have to be doing and I don't think that I could handle having my life be in a hospital and doing all that stuff. I'm not a very hands on person, I'm better at just studying things. So I think it would be hard for me to be able to go in and just like cut people open and things. I don't know if any of that makes sense.

2. Instead I've decided I want to study business and become an investment banker because it's a nice lifestyle. It's a lot of work but they make a lot of money which is good.

3. I wanted to go to San Francisco because I've never been there. But going to California isn't like a strange new thing for me because all my family lives in Southern California and my parents actually moved here from San Jose which is close to San Francisco. And after nylf I'm flying down to Orange County to stay with my family.

ok sooooo since most of you probably want to be doctors do you guys know what kind you want to be or where you want to go to school?

There are many different types of doctors. There are surgeons, physicians, physicians assistants, gynecologists, researchers, and many more. I agree...I could never do surgery on a human being, yet I like disecting things. I want to be a researcher instead, hopefully against viruses and other microscopic organisms that threaten human life.

I couldn't stand to be an investment banker...I would need some change in my life. What made you want to be an investment banker?
Confused

Hey Makayla! Razz I enjoy these Graemlins...very entertaining...
I'll be a junior too. Never been to any NYLF events. I enjoy biology, the study of medicine, and bookwork, hence, I want to be a biomedical researcher. I don't want to limit my focus, so hopefully I won't have to chose for a while.

Hey...thought I'd stop in again to keep this thread up at the top for most active...

I do believe we're all going to be juniors... interesting...I got the idea that some would be seniors.

I know that my foot doctor's daughter went to Boston and had a "blast". I know I'm completely stoked.
