Hey Everyone~

My name is Shelby and I’m from Salem NJ. Mom or Dad is driving me to DC.
I love meeting new people!

I want a career in law enforcement. I do ride-alongs with our local police and volunteer with the municipal alliance TASE program. (Tobacco Age of Sale Enforcement…I go into tobacco retailers to purchase tobacco products. if they sell to me, they get a fine and a court appearance.)

I attend Salem High School and take classes at Salem Community College in the evenings; I will be one semester away from my associate’s degree when I graduate high school in June, then it's off to a 4-year school. Field hockey monopolizes my time from August til now…yesterday was the last game. I am the team captain of South Jersey Robotics; check out usfirst.org. I don’t get much “me” time but when I do I like going to dinner and movies with friends, shopping, kayaking, and riding the four-wheeler or in the convertible. (Neither one are anything fancy so don’t get the wrong idea)

For those that are nervous, don’t be; just be yourself, stay with the group, don’t wander off.
For those worried about roommates, don’t be…according to the sample schedule we won’t be spending much time in those rooms anyway.
For the assignment…the mentor part was easy…my peers on the other hand…
Shopping…I love it but can’t afford to indulge.
I do have myspace and facebook pages but I’m not on very often; texting is the best way to reach me.
Wondering about what dress to bring for the formal? I’m bringing full length and knee length; I hope we go for the full length. And the guys always look sharp in a full suit!

When you sign on and inform nylf of your travel plans you can sign up for shuttle service at that time. You will pay your $40 shuttle fee while you are on the shuttle.
