I know that we will have free time during the forums, but what are the options or activities that we could or would do?

Well there's some free time in the evenings when they hold socials. You can either go to the socials, or hang out. I honestly skipped most of the socials and used the time to either shower or play cards with other friends that were skipping the socials.
You also may have some scattered free time during the day, but there's no way to know how much free time you'll have. *Some* of the locations have computer labs that students can use so I'd sometimes check email. I'd also use this free time to take a nap, call home, hang out with people or just unwind. They keep you very busy, so it's sometimes nice to just do nothing

Yes the socials usually are just big hangouts. You will get a snack [usually a bag with some snacks and a drink]. Sometimes there are fun competitions too. We had a RockPaperScissors contest and a limbo contest. We also had an FA bring an iPod and my MED group just started dancing. We turned every social into a mini-dance. It was amazingly fun and a great way to get to know the other really outgoing fun people!

Oh and sometimes you will get free stuff such as a TShirt and a waterbottle with the NYLF symbol on them!

If at the first social an FA doesnt bring an iPod Im sure you can ask yours if it is at all possible!

and to add on to Monarchs post... We went to the student store [UCLA] because they had a lot of fast food places, a Jamba Juice, a shoe store, a convience store, a clothing store, a book store, and a electronics store. We also went to the pool. It was a ton of fun because there were lots of people. We hung out a LOT! We also got to see Andy Roddick and Andre Agassi play tennis because some tourney was held on the UCLA campus.

Me and my roomie would hang out a lot too [watch TV and talk and stuff] You may want to rest but it was too much fun and there was too much to do for me to sleep more! haha
