Okay, I'm going the 5-14th so I could try and help when I get back I'm a little lost myself lol, and I leave tomorrow cause I'm driving! We'll see how it goes...
Hey!!! I just got back from session one. It was such a blast!!! Everyone was really awesome. You make really good friends. The faculty advisors (teachers for the small groups) are really funny and amazing. As for some things you may/may not need: They give you a blanket, but it may not be enough for some. Just bring a small one in case. They also provide you with soap, a pillow, sheets, towels, and washcloths. You may want to bring food, since dinner ends before 7 and you will be up until 11 every night. Also, bring something to pass the time if you don't like to talk a whole bunch. They give you an excessive amount of time for lunch and dinner, so you'll find yourself with a lot of free time around the meals if you eat relatively quickly. Don't worry, you'll have sooooo much fun.
For the rooms, I think almost all of them are suite style, so there's usually about 7-8 people sharing 6 rooms, so there are 2 rooms that have two beds in them. For money: $40 for the transport (if you are planning on taking it) Probably around $100 for meals if you don't spend too much. A lot of times you can get away with spending eight or nine dollars on lunch because it's just fast food places or a cafeteria. Six flags and the magnificent mile can get more expensive if you want it to be. Sometimes you can get a meal at those places for under ten dollars that is totally adequate. Whatever you want spend in terms of shopping money. I spent only $50, but I'm a guy, so it may differ for others. Overall, I got away with spending $200. For the professional attire, some of the FA's are pretty lax about it in their rooms as long as you are dressed professionally outside. They have staff watching and "grading" you, so to speak. I know in ours, they were content with our level of dress in the first few days, so they downgraded some of the days from professional to relaxed professional. This may not happen for you, so be ready. And a lot of times, what they will do is have the code be professional in the morning and relaxed professional in the afternoon and night, so what you could plan on doing is just staying professional all day if you are running out of space in your luggage.

I forgot to mention, for the rooms, there are 2 bathrooms. This can be kind of troublesome if there are people in your suite that like to take long amounts of time in the shower. In that case, wake up earlier or get almost ready (except for the shower) while that person takes a shower.
I am going to Chicago summer session July 19-28 i really dont know wat all to bring extra, and is the gala really formal like gowns?? Ahhhhh somuch to do such little time.
