I know it says to wear a semi-formal dress, but I'm not sure if mine could be considered under that category or not. I'll try to explain it as best as I can. It's strapless and goes straight down to my feet. It is a deep maroon color with this sheer material over the top with some flower designs. Does that sound too fancy? If so, what should I wear?

Hi. =] That sounds like it would be good. Sounds like a prom dress, but i think it would be okay. Semi-formal would be like homecoming dresses. But i think yours will be fine =]. Hoped i helped.

Thanks for your advice! I was just afraid of being TOO dressed up for the dance. It's not my prom dress; it's not poofy or anything, just very slender. Thank you so much for your help!

I went to the boston session 1 earlier this summer and the dresses that the girls wore for the last night were pretty much cocktail dresses. They were mostly right knee length...but its not a big deal if urs is to the ground. There were so many different dresses and so many people there that you wont stick out....hope that help yall some

I brought 2 dresses, b/c I wasn't sure which I should wear. One was full length, strapless, black & white (not poofy) - the other was sort of knee length, spaghetti-strap & red. The shorter one was definetly the better choice. I looked around and almost all the dress lengths were around the knees. So if you have a shorter one, go for that. If not, don't stress - you'll be fine. Have fun!

I just got back from the UCLA 2nd session and almost all of the girls were wearing shorter dresses. We were supposed to wear full coat and tie but we ditched them both as soon as we got there and stayed relaxed pro the whole time.

Thank you guys for your help! I do have a short spring dress that goes down to my knees. It's kind of a halter, red with white polka dots, and flowy. It's a typical cute, spring dress. Would that be a better choice for the dance?

Honestly, all the dresses everyone has described sound absolutely adorable. I had my semi about a month a go and I was really stressing about what to wear, but once you get there, everyone has such a variety of dresses that you never feel awkward about what you're wearing for a second.

Down below is a link to the dress I am looking at getting. Do you think that it would be too formal? Or do you think that it would be fine?

A cocktail dress is definitely perfect and a sundress would be adorable, too.
