The live sugery is whatching the surgery take place on a screen. It was like whatching a live concert at home if you get my meaning. You could ask questions at your cities turn but everyone whatched the one from Cleveland, OH at the same time. It was a bummer. The trip really wasn't what I thought it was going to be Frown

<I ATTENDED THIS PAST SUMMER>
Posted
Hey everyone!
This past summer, EVERY NYLF (regardless of location) viewed a total knee replacement surgery. We got to ask the doctor performing it questions.
If you are attending at Washington DC. If you arrive early the first day and fill out the preference survey, you may get to see the LIVE OPEN HEART SURGERY at Inova Fairfax. I got to do that. You need to fill that survey out early to try and get the spot because only 25 of the 300 can go. I went, and it was AMAZING!!! The entire 3.5 hr surgery, we watched every doctor do their task and the patient. How many can say they saw a live open heart surgery!?

You'll love NYLF. I have made friends I still talk to everyday. Have fun and enjoy.
Remember, just be yourself... making friends is easy because naturally everyone has something in common- a love for medicine- and everyone is friendly.

p.s. THE GUYS ARE VERY VERY GOOD LOOKING. Especially in D.C. (;
