Hi everyone!
I was reading another post and I was wondering if there was any difference whether you arrivfed first or last on registration day. Like for our clinical experiences if we are one of the first ones there do we get top choice for our clinical choices. Also I know that I will be there for at least one Sunday not including registration, and I was wondering if we are allowed to go to church or if they have that planned or whatever?

No, it doesn't matter when you arrive on registration day - at least it didn't for me. (I went to the Atlanta session 1 last year) They gave us a sheet with the hospitals listed on one side and areas of study on the other (cardiology, geriatrics, etc.) You could pick your top two or three. They try and put people in their preferred areas, but it's no guarantee. You'll have fun wherever you go, though.

umm.. I didn't request a hospital, so I ended up going to a small one about 2 hrs away from Emory. I got to shadow a nurse. For the areas of study, I picked neonatology (sp?) and I was also put in hypnotherapy, which was surprisingly really neat - the guy actually hypnotized one of the attendees to get her over her "fear of feet". It sounds fake, but she was crying while under the hypnosis by the end and everybody wanted to stay and watch her after the session ended. What fields are you interested in?

Umm I'm intersted in ER, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, NICU, PICU, I like children and I would love to be a very specialized doctor.. I know it sounds completely crazy but i find what Addison Montgomery (off of Grey's Anatomy or Private Practice) does is absoluetley intersting. She is basically board certified OBGYN, that is a neo-natal surgeon. I think that would be an absolutley amazing job. Or a maxillofacial surgeon specializing in children, or for those who watched ER (my fav show in the entire world) um i would like to be a Peds ER doc, like Doug Ross (George Clooney). anyway what fields of medicine are you guys intersted in? Also Hayley C. why didn't you get to shadow a doctor, it seems like thats who we should be following if thats the profession we wish to enter? Oh and I'm not dissing nurses or anything my mom is one and thats probably what I will do if not for this.

i am not for sure how many share a room but if you are being housed in dorms it will be anywhere from 2-4...probably the same number if you are staying in a hotel.
