No they're not needed. I'd leave it at home; you assume responsibility for EVERYTHING you bring to the forum, and that's an expensive thing to be responsible for. Also there is very little time where you could use a laptop, and several of the forum sites do not have internet available for personal computers, although there should be more specific info about that in your acceptance packet.
I didn't miss the computer at all while I was there. I think I did use one of the labs that was available to us once to check my email when I had several hours to kill, but that was more of a time waster than anything.

Monarch is right you wont need a computer! There were 2 computers [with just internet] in the cafeteria at UCLA. We checked Myspace and Facebook at almost everymeal haha we would make ones for our new friends and add the new friends who already had one. So I agree with monarch in saying dont bring oneeee!

I attended the session at Babson in Boston, and there is no need for a computer at all! The student center had several computers that we could use during our (limited) free time. But it was honestly great to just get away from Facebook, and e-mail and really click with all my new friends!

No, I would nor bring a laptop. There are plenty of computers available to students and you have very little time to use a computer because you will be interacting with others.
