Alright so I took the compass and wasn't really surprised by the results (Economic Left/Right: -6.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.26) but I live in Oakland where we're all good little hippies. But what I'm wondering is if anyone has come up as 0,0 yet, wouldn't they then be the quintessential moderate, the perfect swing vote?

That's me I guess. Would it be dumb of me to say that I didn't understand some of the questions? Well I did the best I could.

Hmm... so my father is a Lt. Colonel in the Army and he spouts right-wing pro da at home all the time, and yet, I am a libertarian... Ayn Rand is my hero. Funnyness. They aren't all gun toting though. While yes, most people here will be conservative, don't you think all the people going for the diplomacy aspect would be more liberal (wanting diplomacy instead of crazy, neo-conservative war mongering?).

Economic Left/Right: 7.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.97

This really surprised me, since I am pretty liberal on social issues (one of my best friends is ***, I kind of have to be), yet very very conservative on economic/role of government issues. Funny little scale, huh? I should tell my AP Gov teacher about this thingie...

I may sound a little daft but I'm going to ask anyway. What is the political compass?

Did anyone notice on the analysis that the pope and Hilter were in the same section of the graph?

Much love

As for the whole 85% conservative thing, and the stereotypical gun-toting military kid thing, can't say I'm not a little scared.

Interestingly it seems alot of people who posted here are rather leftist or libertarian, but that could just be because we are so much cooler than the conservative kids.

Check out the first page of this thread. It is a survey which will tell you about where you stand on the political scales.

All right, I got it now. But help me understand it. I have a general idea but I'm still a little clueless. Maybe its because I'm so tired tonight. Smile

Well you have strong leftist economic tendencies so I'd say you are socialist/communist.
You lean slightly towards an authoritarian goverment meaning you think the government should exercise some control over people's lives but it's not even close to say... George W's view on government authority.

Hope that helps. Big Grin
